Hdmi True Audio Can I Connect My PS3 To An AV Receiver Using Just An HDMI?

Can I connect my PS3 to an AV receiver using just an HDMI? - hdmi true audio

Looking to buy a Onkyo TXSR505 AV Receiver and surround sound for my PS3. This receiver has an "HDMI. The shop told me that I did not even connect the receiver to my PS3 with an optical cable in addition to the HDMI input from PS3 no sound via HDMI. Is this true and if so, what is the point , HDMI?

  1. Onkyo 505 receiver is not an HDMI repeater, one can use a single HDMI connection for audio and video files to be used. If you would like Onkyo, you buy 605 ($ 350) on this receiver you can connect HDMI 1.3a just get in touch, surround sound, even for some of the new HD audio formats.

  2. No.
txsr505 not able to process HDMI audio.
Be sure to connect an audio cable connected to HDMI connection.
    The lens is preferable.
But if you're not too demanding with surround sound you can from us with RCA (red and white composite).

With the PS3 some units are not equipped with the latest firmware version, can not be able to output Dolby Tru-HD to another device and receiver. it is better to ask Sony about this anyway.

  3. Audio output should ...
If not, can still use the definition 1080p HDMI output.
They talk with each song they try to cheat on a different cable, or the foreigners purchase and no idea what they are talking about.

I (some problems with foreign assistance, the lack of media had known almost nothing but books and more ...)
